Sania Mirza put up a spirited performance against World number 8 Venus Williams before going down 7-6,6-4 . Venus had been down 5-3 to a spirited Sania and with high percentage of first serve landing on the places she wished Venus overcome Sania. Sania started very well only to lose in the tie breaker 7-0 and in the second set got her serve broken once and that sealed the match in venus' favor.



Sania was wonderful in patches and when her shots back hands in particular landed in spots she looked really smart. We have to remember when her shots fails her the same Sania looks silly too. I would have liked Sania to wait and let Venus make the errors but Sania was in a hurry to finish things fast and that sealed the match in Venus favor.
