Several years ago, a friend, who is a voracious reader and whose tastes run akin to mine, asked me if I had ever read any graphic novels. My immediate thought was “Graphic Whats?” He showed me a few on his table, and I snorted, “Comic books? No, I outgrew those decades ago.” He said, “Girl, they aren’t what you think they are. Please, read these, and then get back to me. I think your opinion might change.”

The books he had handed me were The Road To Perdition and Maus. The Road To Perdition has many published variations; this was the book upon which the movie was based.
