Classes have returned to normal at Middle Georgia College in Cochran after a man was taken into custody there.
The college 120 miles south of Atlanta was placed on lockdown Monday morning after a student reported seeing a man with a gun on campus. Police then combed the campus, room by room.
They have taken one man into custody and say he is not a student.
The lockdown was lifted at noon.
Middle Georgia College is a public two-year school, with a main campus in Cochran and a center in Dublin. It also offers a four-year aviation science degree.
Middle Georgia College is on lockdown as police investigate a report of an armed man on campus.
College President Mary Ellen Wilson says campus and city police are conducting a room-by-room search. Campus police say a student told police he saw an armed man.
Wilson says the suspect was thought to have entered the student center.
Middle Georgia College is located in Cochran, Ga., about 120 miles south of Atlanta.
